kpgp README - v0.0.2 17.12.97
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

kpgp is a PGP configuration tool and small PGP keyring viewer like
PGP 5.0 for Win95. You need PGP 2.6

I don't know if its allowed, but the pixmaps look like the
PGP 5.0 ones. If not, there is an alternative set of pictures,
but they're looking not so good...

This is the first release of kpgp. Only a few functions are supported,
but it works with my PGP 2.6.3i installation. BUT THERE ARE BUGS!
!You should make a copy of your PGP configuration and keyring files!

This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful,

PGP Config:
-----------

Here you can set the PGP settings of the PGP configuration file
'config.txt' or sometimes called '.pgprc'.

For more information read the PGP manual.

Keyring:
--------

On startup you will see all the public keys (displayed by one key) and your
own keypairs (displayed by two keys) in your public keyring file.

Keys
----

The color of the key shows how you trust the key-owner to sign other keys:
gray - undefined or unknown trust
red - we usually do not trust this key owner
yellow - we usually trust this key owner
green - we always trust this key owner
blue - this is one of your own keys

gray, flat - this key is paused

RMB popup menu shows you operations on keys
LMB popup menu shows you more key information
(bitlen, key-ID, time of creation, fingerprint)

highlighted. You can select another private key with
RMB-popup-menu 'Make Default'.

UserIDs
-------

If you select (expand) a key, you get a list of user IDs of this key.
The color of the head indicates your trust in the keys ownership:
gray - undefined or unknown trust
red - we do not trust this key's ownership
yellow - we have marginal confidence of this key's ownership
green - we completely trust this key's ownership

RMB popup menu shows you operations on userIDs.

Signatures (Key Certificates)
-----------------------------

If you select (expand) an user ID, you get a list of signatures with the
following meaning (if the signer's key is in your pubring file):
    gray - unknown
red - we do not trust this signature
yellow - we reasonably trust this signature
blue - ultimately trusted signature ( signature from the owner
             of the keyring)

If the signer's key is not in your pubring file, you can only see
    the keyID of the key.

RMB popup menu shows you operations on signatures.
